The Ensana method
Examine, prescribe, draw on the source, report
Every medical programme follows the same four steps. What changes from town to town is what comes out of the ground.
Examine
Medical programmes open with a check-up on arrival. Longevity and weight programmes add lab tests and measurements, and some begin with a consultation before your client even travels.
Prescribe
The hotel doctor writes the treatment plan within the programme, so each guest's week is shaped around their own condition.
Draw on the source
Each day brings one to four treatments using the town's thermal water, mineral springs, natural carbon dioxide or mud, alongside physiotherapy and massage.
Report
Longer stays and the Enhanced Health programmes close with a final examination and a medical report, with advice on how to continue at home.
A day at Ensana
This is how Ensana itself sketches a day at its hotels. Your clients' actual treatment times follow the doctor's plan.
By condition
Which hotel for which condition
Start with the condition your client mentions. You will see the hotels Ensana names for it, why that town suits it, the programme to book and what to check before you quote.
All conditions by town
Where Ensana names each condition, town by town.
Indications are as Ensana publishes them on its condition, destination and hotel pages. The hotel doctor confirms suitability at the arrival examination. This guide is not medical advice.
Programmes
Fifteen programmes in three families
Filter by what your client needs. Open any programme to see what it includes and every hotel that offers it, with published rates.
How to read the ratesEnsana sells each health programme at a single nightly rate per person, listed on its site as "room / night / person". That rate covers the room, the meals shown under Board and the programme's treatments. Ensana does not state the room occupancy behind its "from" rates, so we confirm whether each quote is on a single or shared-room basis. Spa tax is extra.
What each programme includes
Side by side, as Ensana lists the inclusions. Details vary slightly by hotel, and the doctor sets the final treatment plan.
Destinations
Seven spa towns, each with its own resource
Choose the town by the resource and setting your client wants. Zoom into any town to see each hotel, the airports and the spa sights, and tap a hotel to jump to its card.
Walk the grounds

Hotels
Fifteen hotels, four of them five-star
Star ratings are as Ensana publishes them. Rates are the lowest published health programme rate, per person per night, covering the room, board and treatments together.
Plan a stay
How long, who for, and what to know
Getting the length wrong is the most common mistake in selling a medical spa. Here are the minimums Ensana sets and the lengths it advises.
Strong fit
- Parents and grandparents with stiff joints, back pain or reduced mobility, who can give it two to three weeks.
- Guests recovering after hip or knee surgery. Ensana's doctors at Nové Lázně offer spa rehabilitation after these operations.
- Longevity-minded travellers who want a full check-up with lab tests and a written report.
- Guests living with type 2 diabetes, through the Glycaemic Balance Programme at both Sairme hotels.
- Families who want pool or beach time alongside treatments: Aquahouse, Thermal Aqua and Butterfly.
- Golfers: Fürstenhof sits beside a golf resort with six 18-hole and three 9-hole courses.
Think twice
- Guests expecting a celebrity detox clinic. These are medical spa hotels with a structured routine.
- Anyone who needs acute or hospital care. The hotels support recovery and prevention.
- Two-night bookings presented as a health programme. Short stays are tasters, and some include no doctor's examination.
- Guests who want to choose every treatment themselves. Here, the doctor prescribes.
Getting there, hotel by hotel
The usual airports for each town, the road and rail details that are officially published, and what each hotel says about transfers.
Airports, transfers and road and rail details as published by Ensana (each hotel's FAQ, the Piešťany, Hévíz and Bulgaria pages, the Aquahouse events page and the Mariánské Lázně meetings brochure), the Mariánské Lázně and Bad Griesbach tourist offices, and Georgia's national tourism site (georgia.travel), checked 29 October 2026. Straight-line distances are measured on the map and are not drive distances. Drive times are approximate and do not allow for traffic: Prague as Ensana gives it, Sairme as Georgia's national tourism site gives it, and the others calculated with OpenStreetMap road routing on 1 November 2026.
